Paarl Department of Home Affairs Worst in SA?

Paarl
Paarl Department of Home Affairs Worst in SA?

In the line of the dept of Home Affairs South Africans wait to be served. IDs, Passports, Marriage Certificates, and other important documentation are handled at this state department.

The Dept of Home Affairs operates weekly starting a 08:00 - 15:30. Some people make bookings and others get themselves ready at 04:00 in the morning to stand in the line at the Dept of Home Affairs.

South Africans would agree that the Dept of Home Affairs is of great significance to them. The Dept practically influences and impacts the future of the citizens it serves. The natural expectation of such a great responsibility is efficient and innovative services provided to the citizens of South Africa.

The question is do South Africans get Good Services from the Dept of Home Affairs?

Carlo Small visited the Dept of Home Affairs in Paarl on Friday 19 January 2024 and he raised great concern about the processes and communication handled at the offices in Paarl.

Carlo says “South Africans deserve the highest quality services from the Dept of Home Affairs and if they are unable to provide that then their ability must be questioned. No citizen can stand and accept average service from such an important State-Owned Entity. It is through acceptance that we lower our standards and allow sloppy services from the government to continue to plague this nation”.

South Africa has been infected with a spirit of selfishness and laziness where those given positions of authority do as little as they can and this is evident in the operational processes of the Dept of Home Affairs in Paarl where a line of 90 people stands outside in the 40 degrees sun waiting to be helped and the staff takes frequent breaks with one or two staff members helping South African Citizens. More than 5 cubicles are empty with no answers to why that is the case or solutions on how to resolve this challenge that implicates the time and effort of the citizens of South Africa.

According to Carlo, the supervisor of the Dept of Home Affairs Paarl, Mandla Komi told the people that they only help people up to a point and advised people to make bookings. The concern is that everyone does not have access to mobile devices and the Internet to make such a booking. Many elderly people and poverty-stricken people are also in need of the services provided only at the Dept of Home Affairs and based on the communication received from Mandla it seems that they aim to serve a specific group of people which is totally wrong.

South Africans must make their voices heard by continuously speaking out against the horrific service delivery received from State-Owned Entities and demanding higher quality services.
