Semi-final Spectacle ahead as Villagers Worcester and Saldanha RFC face off

Villagers Worcester and Saldanha RFC will face off for a spot in this year’s Boland Top 12 final. Both teams enter the game with a record of four wins out of five, but their results from last weekend were quite different. 

Villagers Worcester delivered a commanding performance against Vanrhynsdorp Eagles, winning 57-5, while Saldanha came up short, losing 46-27 to an impressive Robertson Town RFC team. 

Fans can expect to see significant attacking talent on display, with the backline players playing a crucial role in each team's success. 

Villagers Worcester are known for their fast-paced style, quickly shifting the ball to gain territory. Their forwards operate as a cohesive unit, often overpowering opponents in scrums, rucks, and stealing lineout throw-ins. Captain Edward Haas stands out as a key player; the eighth man is a powerful ball-carrier with remarkable athleticism for a forward. Villagers Worcester Backline coach Mr. Fabian Randall shared his insights on the upcoming semi-final matchup against Saldanha RFC. “We are well prepared, and we had a strong performance in our last game. We played cohesively and finished with a high score. Our defense was solid. Saldanha RFC is unpredictable overall. Everyone is eager to win, making it challenging to forecast an outright winner. I believe it will come down to who wants it more in the end.”

This match promises to be another thrilling clash in the Boland Top 12, sure to keep spectators on the edge of their seats. 

The semi-final will take place at Boland Rugby Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 14:00.
