Dr Aaron William Messelaar
A Captain of Griqua/Chief (GAOB) and Pastor born in the Northern Cape in Campbell, near Kimberly (30th August 1965). He comes from a royal traditional family in the Griqua clan, passionate about culture and tradition.
EARLY LIFE
Dr. Aaron William Messelaar began his education at Aalwyn Primary School in Campbell, Northern Cape, where he attended from 1972 until 1979, completing his Standard 5. Following this, he enrolled at Pescodia Secondary School from 1980 to 1982, during which he was in Grade 9.
In January 1983, while on his way to school, he was forcibly recruited by the police during the apartheid regime to join the South African Cape Corps, the military in Cape Town at that time. As a result, he moved to Eerste Rivier in Cape Town, Western Cape. He served as a soldier in the army from January 1983 until December 1984.
CAREER LIFE
In December 1984, Dr. Messelaar started a job at Finitex, a clothing factory, where he worked until June 1986. While employed there, he moved to Elsies River in Cape Town in 1985. He left his position to further his education, enrolling at Lyceum College, where he studied from June 1986 to December 1988, completing grades 10 to 12. During his studies, he also held part-time security jobs with various companies from 1986 to 1987.
From 1987 to 1991, Dr. Messelaar worked full-time at Radiator Masters, initially as a driver before being promoted to manager. In 1991, he began studying theology at Serepta Faith Mission Bible College, where he stayed until 1993. Later that same year, he joined the South African Police Service, serving at the Cape Town Headquarters until 1995.
After resigning from the SAPS, he accepted full responsibility for his traditional and cultural duties, where he has reigned as chief and captain of the Griqua tribe to this day.
PERSONAL LIFE
Dr. Messelaar registered his funeral parlour, Faith Workers Funeral and Trade, in 1993, and fully launched the business in 1995. He has successfully operated it ever since. He married his beautiful wife, Roseline Patronella Messelaar, on April 26, 1986. Their marriage inspired his move to Cape Town, where they met while he was still serving in the army. They have been happily living together ever since and have four children.
In addition to being a devoted father and husband, Dr. Messelaar was ordained as a pastor in 1987. He served as the moderator of his church until 1999 and currently holds the position of head of the church.
Dr. Messelaar's impressive educational background began after he completed his matric at Lyceum College. He went on to study at several institutions, including Correspondence Bible School, Sarepta Apostolic Faith Mission Bible College, Emmaus Bible School, and Christian Leaders Institute, ultimately earning his Bachelor of Theology from Lawrence Bible College.
