Adelaars Ready for Big Physical Test Against Wellington
The excitement is building in the Boland Streekuitdaag as Adelaars RFC prepares to take on Wellington RFC this Saturday, 14 March 2026. The second teams will kick off at 14:45 at the well-known venue, Die Dam, Groenberg Primary School.
Adelaars enters this game with confidence after a hard-fought 29–22 victory over the Young Warriors in their previous outing. However, the team knows that Wellington will provide a very different and highly physical challenge on the field. Wellington is known for their big forwards and being very physical around the park, the team has a rich history stretching back 128 years.
Team manager of Adelaars, Jaquin Galant has been keeping a close eye on the players' progress during practice. The coaching staff has placed a major focus on scrum technique this week. After being pushed back in the scrums during their last match, the Adelaars forwards are working hard to ensure they can hold their own against a strong Wellington pack.
The team captain says the players are feeling positive and ready for the challenge.
"I feel good about this match. We have prepared hard and long for this one. The key to getting a good result is discipline and staying in our structure," the captain stated.
The club’s Chairperson is also standing firmly behind the squad, expressing full confidence that the boys will "pull it through" and bring home a win.
Players to Watch
Fans heading to Die Dam should keep a close eye on the likes of Brandow Lee Sass and Hilton Moni who have created huge reputations over the past couple of years. Other players include Ashwin Sass and Dillon Fortuin who are expected to make a big impact for Adelaars this coming weekend.
With both teams hungry for points and the physical stakes high, this Saturday’s clash promises to be an action-packed afternoon of local rugby.
