Kluitjieskraal Aboriginal Collective Community won the court case against Public Works

Wolseley
Kluitjieskraal Aboriginal Collective Community won the court case against Public Works

On Monday, 09 October 2023, Kluitjieskraal Collective Community appeared before the High Court in Cape Town, in the matter between the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure and Kluitjieskraal Aboriginal Collective Community. The case was dismissed because the judge could not prove jurisdiction over the community.

Speaking to Khoeb Khaiba, the Administrator of Kluitjieskraal Aboriginal Collective Community,  he said that the Kluitjieskraal Aboriginal Collective Community (KKAC) was served with court papers on the 28th August 2023 because they decided to reclaim their ancestral land in Wolseley and public works decided to take them to court. The KKAC is a collection of all aboriginal peoples. Khwe and !Xam which are the Khoe and San people.

Residents of the Kluitjieskraal community showed up in masses today at the High Court to show their determination and support.
