Young Blues Gear Up for an Intense Clash Against Bella Vista

Young Blues will be looking to recover from an emphatic 57-29 loss to Roses United as they take on a confident Bella Vista outfit on Saturday 29 June at Newton Villagers, Wellington.

Theodore Pietersen and his team will be looking to give Bella Vista a tough match up as they seek to recover from three straight losses. This, however, will not be an easy task as they take on a buoyant and clinical Bella Vista side.

Bella Vista will be confident and have a spring in their step after convincingly beating last week’s opponents Temperance 55-12. The team from Ceres scored 9 tries which came from star fullback Patwin van Der Merwe Jr (3), Adrian Mars, Thierry Grootboom, Jaydin van Der Winter, Jathan-Lee Martin, Elron Mcleod, and Johnlee Skippers.

Van Der Merwe also converted four goal kicks from the kicking tee, with Durin Nasson converting one.

Grootboom the number eight for Bella Vista was named man of the match for his excellent and captivating display. He will be looking to continue that fine form against Young Blues this coming weekend. More good news has been announced for Bella Vista as star prospect Fernando Muller has been named in the Sanlam Boland Rugby Union u21 group.

Thierry Grootboom will be a player to watch out for on Saturday.

Young Blues’ management team will want a decisive performance from their boys as they are looking to gain newfound confidence and motivation for the games left in the Boland ‘Grootuitdaag Wit-Sentraal’ competition. Naturally, they will have a lot to prove given that they are playing in front of their home crowd.

Both teams’ representatives are confident of their players delivering on the big day. Young Blues chairman has said that the loss of last week won’t determine his side’s fate this weekend. He added that his First Team is on a high and that they are assured to get the win.

Meanwhile, Bella Vista’s representative Pieter Klazen has stated that he expects an exceptional performance from the Bella players and that they are hoping to take maximum points from Blues on Saturday.

Both teams are sure to want to emphasize their dominance early on as they try to move up the Wit-Sentraal log and put pressure on teams at the top half of the table.

Both sides’ three teams will face each other, with the 1ST Teams’ kick off scheduled for 4 pm.

The fees at the gate will be R20 for adults’ entry, R10 for children’s entry and R10 for vehicles’ entry.
